We are happy to welcome Graham da Ponte to Regan Law PLC. She is seasoned appellate attorney who brings to the Regan Team a law career spanning more than two decades. Ms. da Ponte’s depth of knowledge and experience will serve our clients well.
Ms. da Ponte is recognized in Louisiana courts as an expert in criminal law. She has submitted oral and written arguments at the Louisiana Third, Fourth and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal and at the Louisiana Supreme Court. Her 20-year private practice has focused on appeals and post-conviction relief based on a foundation of years of experience as a dedicated public defender for both the Orleans Public Defender and the Jefferson Parish Indigent Defender Board.
As a litigator, Ms. da Ponte has participated in over 250 felony trials. She began her career with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office as a trial lawyer with a concentration in narcotics litigation. As a defense attorney specializing in capital litigation, Ms. da Ponte appeared on a nationally syndicated television program to discuss the constitutional difficulties with laws that impose the death penalty for crimes other than murder. In addition, Ms. da Ponte was the Executive Director of the not-for-profit citizen court-watching group Court Watch NOLA. Ms. da Ponte has been practicing successfully since the late 1980’s as a certified capital trial attorney and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Newcomb College of Tulane University School of Law.
