New Compassionate Release Program
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has instituted a new compassionate release program.
This new policy allows citizens who were sentenced to a mandatory minimum sentence, and are now suffering a significant health problem, or other family crisis, to apply to the federal district court from which they were sentenced for a compassionate release or reduction in sentence.
This sentencing modification could result in a sentence below the statutorily required mandatory minimum sentence.
We have included a link to the Federal Bureau of prisons site for a full description and guidelines concerning the Compassionate Release Program.
