Regan Law P.L.C. is pleased to announce a string of wins for Eric Santana, who is part of the Regan Law team.

Last year, Tyson Cheavis of Gibson, LA was charged with second-degree feticide, but was sentenced to only one year in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree battery.

Cheavis’ pregnant girlfriend had reported multiple instances of domestic violence leading up to the death of the unborn child, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s office. Cheavis admitted to hitting his girlfriend multiple times despite her pregnancy, but earlier this year the Terrebonne District Attorney’s Office dropped the feticide charge due to a lack of evidence.

“I always felt that the evidence was lacking to support the charges of feticide,” said Santana, Cheavis’ attorney.

In addition to his win in Terrebonne Parish, Santana recently won a case in Lafourche Parish regarding a quadruple shooting.

Santana’s client, Kendall Thibodeaux of Houma, LA was charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office claimed that Thibodeaux shot a man at close range before firing multiple rounds at another man. However, Santana said his client didn’t even have a gun and was not the shooter. In early April, Thibodeaux was exonerated.

“It was good for my client to be exonerated,” said Santana. “The only evidence they had, as far as what was presented to me, is people were saying he was the trigger man. I’ve been saying since day one that my client had nothing to do with it. We’ve maintained from day one that they had the wrong guy.”
